1. Welcome From The Publisher
-------------------------------------------------
Ok, so it's been a while. Sue me. ;-)
Sometimes
life just takes over. What with a newborn son
and all, a new job and spring in the air I have been
keeping myself rather busy.
In fact,
maybe a little too busy.
Have you
ever felt like you had so many things going on
that you have trouble focusing on any one of them? That's
me right now.
I am currently
working on several projects with Brian
Garvin and another programmer. I have a half dozen of my
own sites I maintain.
I have
my script installation business, as well as my
hosting business. And of course, this newsletter.
Pile all
of that on to the items I mentioned at the start
and that makes for quite a busy day.
I am up
on a typical day at 4:30 am and I don't crawl into
bed until usually 11 or 11:30 pm. Day after day. Yet I'm
no closer to my dream of running a full-time internet
business.
"So
Mike" I hear you asking. "What's your point?"
My point.
Well, after
weeks and weeks of spinning my wheels, getting
nowhere fast, I have decided to step back and re-focus my
energies.
Brian and
I have a pretty good list of products we want to
get out, so that's where I'll be focusing.
It has
to be done. And I highly recommend that you do this
too. If you're spending time on way too many things at
once, not really accomplishing anything, then it's time to
step back and re-focus YOUR energy.
Stop spinning
your wheels. Start bulding your success ONE
BLOCK AT A TIME.

9 Traits of the Entrepreneurial Personality
--------------------------------------------
by Michael Ambrosio
Do YOU
have what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur?
While there
are many "ingredients" to being a successful
entrepreneur many studies have found these similar traits.
How many do you have?
1- Ambitious.
Entrepreneurs are very competitive and have a
need for achievement.
2- Independent.
Entrepreneurs are self-starters who prefer
to lead rather than follow. Entrepreneurs are
individualists. They don't march "left-right-left-right".
They march "left-left-right-right-hop-left-skip-right".
3- Self-Confident.
Entrepreneurs understand the challanges
of starting a business but are decisive. They have faith
in their ability to resolve problems. They trust their
hunches and ACT on them.
4- Risk
Taking. While not averse to risk, most
entrepreneurs prefer a moderate degree of risk, where they
have a chance to control the outcome. Some even prefer
highly risky ventures that depend on luck.
5- Visionary.
Entrepreneurs believe they can see the future.
Their ability to spot trends and act on them sets them
apart from small business owners and managers.
6- Creative.
Entrepreneurs need to have creative product
designs and ideas, marketing strategies and solutions to
managerial problems if they want to compete with larger
companies.
7- Energetic.
Starting a business can take long hours.
Many Entrepreneurs start their business while still working
a full-time job.
8- Passionate.
Entrepreneurs love their work. Some would
argue that if you're not passionate about what you're doing,
then you can't be an entrepreneur. It takes so many
compromises and sacrifices and too much effort.
9- Committed.
Entrepreneurs make personal sacrafices to
achieve their goals. Because of their commitment, they are
persistent in seeking solutions to problems.
Studies
have also shown that in comparison to the average
executive, entrepreneurs are much more opinionated,
emotionally aloof, impatient, focused and aggressive. They
also tend to get upset when things don't go their way.
So how
much of yourself do you see? Are you a successful
entrepreneur? Do you have what it takes to be one?
